Tips and Courses to be a Dog Walker
A dog walker can walk dogs individually or in a group. This can be taking dogs out for walks during the day while the owner is at work or assisting owners when they are away or unable to walk them themselves.
A love of dogs along with patience and confidence in handling dogs are all requirements for this job. The type of services you provide will decide the fitness level required. Whether working with individual dogs with special needs such as not very well socialised with other dogs or working in groups with many different personalities together, a good understanding of dog behaviour is required.
A dog training course or a course that covers dog handling and dog psychology would be of great benefit. There are no formal education requirements although as with an animal attendant and pet nanny / carer, having some type of a study component and experience in this area will increase your chances of work.
